Press release
Internet Videocommunications awarded the
world’s first Polycom Platinum Reseller Accreditation

22nd May 2002

Internet Videocommunications, Europe’s leading independent specialist in video communication solutions, is the world’s first – and at the time the only - reseller of Polycom conferencing products to be awarded Platinum Reseller Certification from Polycom®, Inc, a worldwide leader in the convergence of interactive voice, video, data and web communications.

Polycom’s new Certification Program demonstrates to the business community that an authorised reseller meets rigorous, worldwide standards of excellence and expertise. Certified Platinum status is the highest level of accreditation.
Internet Videocommunications’ commitment to service excellence, industry-leading support and technical expertise has made it the first company in the world to meet Polycom’s exacting requirements for Platinum status. To date there are no other Polycom certified resellers in the world.

“The establishment of the Polycom Channel Certification program raises the bar for the interactive communications industry and ensures customers that Polycom channel partners meet and exceed the industry’s highest standard of excellence for communications products, service, support and expertise,” said Phil Keenan, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Polycom.

“We’re extremely proud to be the first channel partner to receive Polycom Platinum certification,” said David Rowe, managing director for Internet Videocommunications. “This certification ensures for our customers that we not only sell the industry’s leading voice, video and data communications systems, but that we’re rigorously trained and are completely qualified to support these solutions and provide an exceptional customer experience.”

Phil Keenan added: “Interactive virtual communications has become a critical business tool for leading companies worldwide in part through the reliable, high-quality and easy-to-use systems and the expert service and support available through Polycom’s channel partners. By meeting Polycom’s Platinum Channel Certification, Internet Videocommunications offers its customer the peace of mind that they are working with an organisation that provides the industry’s leading conferencing products and has met the highest standard of excellence for its customer service and support.”

Platinum Certification requires a reseller to meet and exceed the industry’s highest standard of excellence for communication products, service, support and expertise, as well as a greater breadth of marketing, support and training requirements across a broad range of network mediums. The certification requires companies to provide a complete pre-sales, service and support infrastructure which must be conducted by CVE (Certified Video Engineers) and requires an international 24 x 7 helpdesk and on-site maintenance. On-site installation and user training is provided by Polycom-trained engineers. Internet Videocommunications, as part of the certification, provides a Polycom demo facility, which enables customers to see the complete range of Polycom solutions.

Internet Videocommunications has earned a reputation for technical excellence matched by industry-leading after sales support, service and maintenance. Its team of experts design, install and maintain high quality video communication technology that enables clients to enjoy seamless, face to face communications – across organisations, cities, countries and Continents. Internet Videocommunications has installed and maintains a full range of systems in 33 countries throughout Europe and the around the world, using its own CVE-qualified staff.

About Polycom Certified Program

To achieve certification, a reseller must have skill and capability in one or more of the electronic conferencing product families Polycom offers, market and sell those products, support customers’ purchase and ownership of those products, train its staff and customer in these products’ use and service, and satisfy their customers as they do so. Platinum Certification requires a company to meet the requirements for multiple products families and meet a greater breadth of marketing, support and training requirements.

These include: 24x7 help desk; associate VoIP; basic help desk; customer training; CVE (Certified Video Engineers); on-site installation; on-site maintenance; out-of-warranty service; Polycom demo facilities; Polycom qualified sales engineers, sales and service representatives; and Polycom qualified trainers.
